Lets start with a little history of the gas pump-shaped salt pepper shakers. Shakers were made in Kansas City, MO and are a hard plastic. They are found in many colors and styles of pump shapes. They stand around 2 ¾ tall with a couple exceeding that height. Stations ordered these and were “give-aways” during the early 1950's to the early 70's so when you see the stations logos you can relate them to that time. I have posted my personal shakers here in the album but there are around 188 known versions. Please look close as you look at the shakers because at first glance you might think that 2 versions are the same but there are differences.
If you have a set you are thinking of selling and see that I have them I still might be interested in them to trade with other collectors or upgrade the set in my collection. Please contact me with any questions
About Me
Welcome to the only web site dedicated to gas pump salt n pepper shaker collecting.
Let me tell you a little bit about me and how I got started. I grew up around muscle cars, hot rods and have always loved old cars. My stepfather wanted an old pump for Christmas back in 1999 which my mom asked me to help her find.
I found myself a collector after I bought my second pump before we found my stepfather a pump. We did get him one restored in Mobilgas which was a big hit! The first year of collecting focused on finding pumps. Then I started focusing on globes which then led to shakers. I collect a little bit of everything but prefer globes and gas pump shakers.
I decided to build a web site to share some of my shakers that I have in my collection. If you see a set I don't have I would love to buy them. If you have a set that is better than a set I have I would also like to buy them. I sell shakers from my collection only if I have upgraded so please don't ask if I will sell a set.
